New Ziff Davis CEO Vivek Shah is pinning his business plan for the digital-only tech publisher on a mix of database marketing, advertising and subscription—and adding two senior execs to help. The company plans to announce today that Bennett Zucker is joining as SVP/GM of Data Solutions, focusing on mining ZD’s rich data on purchase intent (stressing strict privacy guidelines, of course), along with Anurag Harsh as SVP-Strategic Business Development.

Zucker most recently has been consulting on targeting for Netezza, MediaMath and PubMatic, among others; before that, he held senior positions at Acerno, Right Media and Tacoda. Harsh most recently was group VP, Marketing, Syndication and Networks at IDG; prior to that he was at CBS (NYSE: CBS) and CNN. They’re the first key hires since Shah and Boston-based investor Great Hill Partners bought the assets of Ziff Davis, including flagship PCMag.com,last month.
