AOL Should Just Buy Plaxo

AOL should just buy Plaxo...I hate the thing…I get so many e-mails from people wanting to update their damn address book. The only reason I’m in there is because they get our newsletter, which goes out from my e-mail (my mistake, three years ago).

Anyway, the contact management company has tied up with AOL, and will be integrated within the new AIM client. Plaxo’s contact management abilities are important to AOL as AIM increasingly brings together multiple forms of communications, not just IM, AOL said.

And then, Plaxo’s CEO almost made the case himself, to be bought out: “People don’t want Plaxo as a stand-alone Web site, but they want it where they’re doing the management of address books and calendar,” said Ben Golub, Plaxo’s CEO.
