Atom Entertainment Revamps AddictingClips.com; Allows Mobile Video Uploads

You’re reading this here first ... Atom Entertainment, one of the few entertainment companies to survive the digital ice age, is shifting its three-month-old video clips directory AddictingClips.com to a full-tilt viral site where users can upload and share video, Flash games and animation.  The changes include Cash for Clips, a way for some users to earn cash prizes and wider distribution. Not quite the Revver.com rev share model but more financial potential than YouTube. (Speaking of YouTube, both companies are backed by Sequoia.)

Atom appears to have looked and learned from the competition—content can be embedded or linked, shared privately or publicly, tagged, ranked by popularity, etc. The most intriguing new feature for me: video uploads by email from a mobile phone. Publication is supposed to be immediate.

The AddictingClips launch late last year followed Atom’s acqusition of AddictingGames.com
