Idol Video and Audio Downloads Launch: American Idol has begun selling audio and video downloads of the performances on the show..they’ll also allow linking/embedding of the purchased clips into MySpace. Video downloads will sell for $1.99, while audio downloads will go for 99¢. The entire episode will not be available. It was delayed due to rights issues..Fox Interactive Media, and producers Fremantle and 19 Entertainment will share the revs,
Google Tweaks Video Service; Universal Promo: Now you can upload directly, without the need of a special software..Google also is shortening the wait for uploaded videos to appear on its site, from 24 hours to few hours. Also, first promo deal for Google Video, where a separate page on the featuring trailers and clips from Universal Pictures’ “The Break-Up,” along with videos submitted by users about their own comical break-up experiences.
Nascar.com’s new broadband video service: The launch of NASCAR 24/7, a broadband video service on Nascar.com…Shannon Wiseman, current host of the website’s NEXTEL TrackPass Race Rewind segment will anchor the daily newscast from NASCAR.COM’s CNN Center studio in Atlanta.
‘Access’ Gets Web Makeover: NBC Universal has quietly relaunching its “Access Hollywood” Web site to include more video and ad inventory and more frequent updates. To make that change, the show brought all services to manage the Web site in-house, from IBS, and also hired a new online editor.
IAB’s Video Adv Guidelines: IAB has released broadband video commercial measurement guidelines…measurement should occur when the ad itself begins to appear on the user’s browser, rather than when the buffer is initiated, according to the guidelines. More here
