Comcast, Turner Invest in User-Generated Ad Firm ViTrue

ViTrue, an Atlanta-based startup which provides technology to enable user-generated advertising campaigns, has received funding from Comcast Interactive Capital and Turner Broadcasting….the funding amount was not disclosed but was in “single-digit millions”. Both join existing investors General Catalyst Partners and ViTrue’s founder and CEO, Reggie Bradford (former Tandberg Television President). The company raised $2.2 million in May this year.
Interestingly, Turner and Comcast also invested jointly in video-sharing site Revver earlier this year, so it could be that some of ViTrue technologies might end up being used on Revver. ViTrue will put the cash towards technology investments and partnerships with brands and advertisers. ViTrue also owns the online video-sharing site Sharkle.com.
