Demand Media Buys Hillclimb Media

The domain-name aggregation and “media” firms are buying content firms left, right and center, in an attempt to moetize their domain inventory…now Demand Media, headed by ex-Intermix CEO Richard Rosenblatt, has acquired Hillclimb Media, a company which hosts travel, sports, and outdoors-related sites. Terms were not disclosed.
Hillclimb operates sites for sports enthusiasts, including Trails.com, AllGetaways.com, and GolfLink, and Demand Media will use the content for its own domain monetization. Demand Media has about 8 million domains and niche content sites, including eHow.com.
