Not much to do with digital media, but harks back to those days in Silicon Alley: Dice, the online tech jobs site, (fka Earthweb and used to have a bunch of online tech news/info sites along with the jobs site), has been bought out by private equity firms General Atlantic and Quadrangle Group.

The current management team will continue to lead the company and remain significant equity holders in Dice. The two firms are equal partners in the transaction; further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

WSJ: The sale price is close to $200 million, WSJ says. EarthWeb was listed on the Nasdaq in 1998 and operated more than a dozentech-related sites and e-mail newsletters. It sold the bulk of these assets to portal Internet.com in late 2000, but retained its Dice.com job site and changed its name to Dice soon after.

The VC/M&A channel is sponsored by DeSilva & Phillips.
