Digital Music Software Company Zing Gets $12.5 Million Funding
Zing, the digital music software player (which is embedded in SanDisk’s Sansa MP3 player) has received $12.5 million out of a $13.41 million third-round funding that it is raising, according to a regulatory filing, picked up by PEHub. IDG Ventures Boston was joined by return backer Redpoint Ventures.
Zing recently launched its platform embedded into Sansa Connect players, which allows for music sharing through Wi-Fi connections. The company was founded by Tim Bucher, the former SVP of engineering for Apple.
