Digital Paper Spin-off From Phillips Gets Funding

(thanks Jak) A digital reader/paper application spin-off from Royal Philips Electronics, called iRex Technologies, has recived venture investment. Among the backers of the Eindhoven-based company include ABN Amro Capital and Main Capital.

The company has also launched its electronic paper reader with wireless networking and touch screen technologies. The 8.1” display has 16 grey levels to ensure egibility both indoors and outdoors.

The electronic reader device will be available for distribution by April 2006. More details in the PDF release here...
