Economist Group Buys Legislative Info Tracking Site GalleryWatch

An interesting acquisition by the Economist Group, right before the Congress elections here: it has bought out GalleryWatch, an Austin-based online legislative tracking service. Terms weren’t disclosed.
The site started about 10 years ago, with coverage of the Texas Legislature, and now also tracks the federal government. GalleryWatch will operate under RollCall, a paper for political and policy junkies that publishes four days a week when Congress is in session (also owned by the Economist Group). The publications share some of the same audience—lobbyists, state agencies, trade groups and corporations with a keen interest in legislative developments.
Financial info provider Dun & Bradstreet Corp. says GalleryWatch had $2.2 million in revenue last year, the story says. Some more details in the PDF release here.
