ExtendMedia, a Newton, MA-based provider of online video software and services, has received $12 million in second round of funding, according to a regulatory filing, picked up by PEHub. Venrock Associates and TVM were joined by return backer Atlas Ventures in this round.
The company raised $11 million in a round last year. It makes software that TV networks and retailers use to create online stores to distribute TV shows, movies and other video, and competes against the likes of thePlatform, Entriq, Maven and others. Wal-Mart’s new download store is powered by Extend. More about the company in this TVWeek story.
