Geo-Social Net Plazes Raises $3.5 Million
Berlin-based social net Plazes has received $3.5 million in its first round of funding from Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures. Founded in Dec. 2005, the company, based in Zurich and Berlin, said it had secured seed financing from business angels such as Esther Dyson and Marc Andreessen. Plazes bills itself as the “first global location-aware interaction system,” which essentially means it connects users based on where they are geographically. Release
