Guardian group in UK has combined its print and digital divisions on the business side. The paper will revamp its Guardian Unlimited ad sales digital and print teams into one unit called GNM Commercial.  The department is also creating a new R&D team charged with focusing on emerging revenue opportunities for GNM Commercial, Guardian Recruitment Solutions and Guardian Ventures.
The move comes as a number of newspaper publishers seeks to offer advertisers cross-platform deals to offset the online migration of classified advertising, Brand Republic notes. Telegraph Uk already does cross-platform sales. There was no word on whether this will also lead to a further bridging of print and online editorial functions.
