Industry Moves: Fox Interactive Hires Grey Away From Yahoo
We hear Fox Interactive Media has snared Yahoo Sports GM Brian Grey as the new unit’s first major outside hire. It’s a step up in rank for Grey, slated to be announced Tuesday as SVP-GM, FoxSports.com, but he leaves the number-two sports site behind.
As Grey’s conference bio notes, he joined Yahoo in late 2001 from Shutterfly, where he was vp-business development. He’s also been at Netscape and Nike—and, in 1994-95, scouted for the Chicago White Sox.
This won’t be the last key outside hire for FIM given the current competitive nature of the market ... I’m beginning to think we should change “industry moves” to “musical chairs.”
