Industry Moves: Gambino Leaves Top Digital Post At MTV UK

Angel Gambino, MTV UK’s high-profile digital guru, has left her post after only 16 months. Variety speculates that Gambino did not leave for another job. In the meantime, Gambino’s role as VP of commercial strategy and digital media will be divided into three new posts covering digital media, commercial and strategy as part of MTV’s evolving digital program. Gambino, who joined MTV from the BBC in September 2005, was in charge of implementing the VOD service MTV Overdrive and the user-generated channel MTV Flux. She also licensed TV content such as Punk’d and Pimp My Ride to emerging platforms such as BT Vision, and spun off mobile services from MTV channels Paramount Comedy and Nickelodeon, C21 Media notes.
