Industry Moves: New iVillage COO, CMO; IAC M&A; Google UK MD; IPC

NBCU iVillage: Ezra Kucharz has moved from his position as SVP of digital innovation at NBC Universal to become COO at iVillage. Kucharz was key to the iVillage acquisition, led NBCU’s digital media incubator and set up its digital studios. Linda Boff has been named chief marketing officer, moving from her role as director of employee marketing at General Electric, NBCU’s parent company. Release.
InterActive Corp looks to deal-making: IAC has hired Kara Nortman, formerly an associate with Battery Ventures, as VP, M&A. Her new boss will be Jason Rapp, now SVP, M&A, and formerly VP online development at NYT Digital.
Google UK’s new MD: Dennis Woodside is Google’s new MD for UK, Ireland and Benelux, promoted from his previous role as director of emerging markets. Woodside will lead Google’s efforts to build its search marketing business in a rapidly growing market. “I’m also excited about pioneering new, innovative forms of advertising in these markets - such as mobile and click-to-play video ads,” said Woodside. Kate Burns, the former MD, was at Google for five years but left for a role as head of search at AdLink.
IPC creates digital development role: Neil Robinson has been appointed digital development director at IPC, a new role for the magazine publisher. Robinson is a former publishing director of TVTimes and also NME, where he worked on the launch of the brand’s now-popular site NME.com. Robinson said the company needs to move faster to keep up with consumer demand for online content.
