Media Placeshifting Firm CMWare Gets First Round Funding

CMWare, a PC content placeshifting firm (competing with Orb and other computer files/content remote access firms) has riased an undisclosed amount of funding in its first round. Its software solution, myMobileMedia, allows PC place-shifting solution for mobile carriers…it streams digital media from PCs to their mobile devices in any format, including music files, pictures and DRM-protected content, the company says.
The round was led by Updata Partners...the Princeton, NJ-based company has been around since 2003.
