MedTrackAlerts Gets $1 Million Angel Funding; CNET SVP Joining

MedTrackAlert, a new online media company covering prescription drug news for consumers, has raised a million dollars in angel funding. The names of angel investors was undisclosed. One of the co-founders is Ted Smith, who till recently was the SVP at CNET, running the B2B side. He will be joining the new company as Chief Research Officer starting January. CEO and other co-founder is David Silver, who previously co-founded Athena East, a document management company.
The company has a bunch of e-mail newsletters (and online as well) on various topics within the field, and aggregates across these topics. The company is based in NYC.
