Mobile/Online Voice Apps Startup Snapvine Gets $2 Million Funding

Snapvine, a Seattle area-based mobile voice applications and podcasting startup (another Seattle area company Melodeo is working in the same space) has received $2 million in funding, from Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and First Round Capital.
The interesting part is to listen to the messages or podcasts, no download is required, but you have to call in a number. I am not sure that’s the best way (because of minutes packaging in U.S. etc), but certainly a slightly different approach. The service also allows to embed/post personalized voice comments to their blogs, MySpace and other social networking pages.
This SeattlePI story explains the application and its uses in detail, though I’m a bit confused. Here’s a better way to get an idea..visit the company’s MySpace page here.
