The Justice Department has closed its antitrust probe of Movielink, saying the video-on-demand venture between five major movie studios is not anti-competitive. “The division concluded that the evidence did not support a finding that Movielink had adversely affected competition through increased prices or decreased output,” the Justice Deptment said.

Reuters: It found no evidence that the joint venture has led to collusion or decreased the industry’s incentive to license movie content to competing providers of on-demand video.
