Music Community Company eMinor Gets $2 Million Funding

eMinor, a Durham, NC-based online music community site aimed at indie musicians, has received $2 million in first-round financing from Novak Biddle Venture Partners and Southern Capitol Ventures. eMinor, which was launched in February, will launch its web-based community site ReverbNation.com this fall. A beta launch for some bands was launched in July. The company’s founder is Michael Doernberg, who founded two other software firms: SmarthPath and Marathon Innovations.
