Ninemsn CEO Martin Hoffman Resigns; New Yahoo!7 CEO Speculation

The CEO of Australia’s biggest portal Ninemsn has resigned after three years at the helm…no specific reason for Martin Hoffman’s resignation was given. Hoffman’s was the CEO fot three years and during that time, Ninemsn quadrupled its revenues, the company said. even though it has lost marketshare and ad revenues to Google and rivals such as Fairfax Digital. The Australian bosses of the joint venture parent PBL and Microsoft said Hoffman was welcome to choose a role at either company. PBL’s head of media convergence, Martin Dalgleish, is being tipped to head the portal now.
Meanwhile, at the newly relaunched/merged portal Yahoo!7, the former head of ad agency George Patterson, Ian Smith, is expected to come on as the new CEO.
