Online music community and recommendation startup MOG, founded by David Hyman, the former CEO of Gracenote, has received $1.41 million in first round of funding. The round was financed by a group of angel investors, led by Steve Simon (also an investor in Gracenote).
The Berkeley-CA based startup, founded in June last year, is in private beta now and will launch its public beta in June.
According to company description, Mog-o-matic, its enabling application, provides users with a personalized web page that displays their music collection and the artists, albums and songs they listen to. The service then connects them with others who share similar tastes.
