The consolidation in the press release distribution business continues: PR Newswire, owned by United Business Media, has bought out U.S. Newswire from Medialink Worldwide, for $19 million and an earnout of up to $4 million.
By purchasing Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Newswire, PR Newswire will expand its customer base in the government and public interest sectors, the company said. U.S. Newswire, founded in 1986 and acquired by Medialink in 1999, was one of the first news release distribution outlets focused on government and nonprofit sector.
