Real Girls Media Network, an SF-based stealth content startup founded by Kate Everett-Thorp, a WaldenVC venture partner and former president of marketing agency AKQA, has received $3 million first round funding, out of a potential $6 million raise, according to SEC filing, picked up by PEWNews. Backers include 3i Group and WaldenVC.
From this Craigslist job listing: “Giving women of all ages the opportunity to publish their stories…we enable users to easily submit - and automatically publish - their thoughts and stories. And we give all guests a variety of ways to engage with the content and the community.” Sounds like a blog and community publishing tool for women.
