SafeNet Buys DRM Firm For $20 Million

SafeNet, seeking to grow its copyrights management business from just info security, plans to acquire MediaSentry for $20 million in cash and stock. MediaSentry, of Morristown, N.J., provides anti-piracy services to the recording and motion picture industries. The acquisition will give SafeNet, a Belcamp-based info security company, a list of customers including the MPAA, Warner Brothers, and the Business Software Alliance.
