A Changing Of The Silicon Valley Guard?

Hitwise runs the numbers and notes that for the first time ever last week Facebook passed Google (NSDQ: GOOG) to become the most visited website in the U.S. It’s not as though Google has stopped growing; it’s just that Facebook is growing at a much faster clip. I am an ex AOLer and I can tell you Falco, Grant, Dave Morgan, David Liu, etc. are repositioning this business to powerfully capture the ad dollars going forward by making search advertising the NEW DNA of the business.  I still think they need a strong local platform within Platform A like a ReachLocal, etc. to round out the effective selling of the network but sure they are addressing all this in due time.
