BPI, the UK version of the RIAA, is warning users of Russian site allofmp3.com that the doanloads are illegal despite the site’s claim to be licensed. Critics say even if the site has licenses for Russian distribution—those licenses are in doubt— it wouldn’t be legal to sell downloads in other countries. The cheap download site is the second most popular for UK downloads, the BBC reports, accounting for 14 percent of downloads. Despite the warnings, BPI says it will not go after users; instead, it will sue the site in the UK.
