UK’s Times Online Redesigns
Updated: We usually don’t cover too many site relaunches, but a very nice redesign of Times Online in UK, the website for The Times newspaper, in some senses following the lead of stateside Times, that is, NYTimes.com is stripping back and going for a magazine-ish design.
Many new features: blogs from Times journalists and columnists; embedded audio and video throughout the site; New video series “Cool in Your Code”, an ongoing series unpicking hidden London postcode by postcode; Your World: travel experiences / images and more uploaded from interactive map developed with NewsCorp sibling, Harper Collins.
More details on redesign here.
Updated: The company says it has invested about $20 million in the design, IT, editorial, and marketing of the site, and has been profitable since 2002.

Looks like the site is slow at this point and having trouble with extra traffic…Guardian has a story on it here:

Hmm. The site isn’t loading correctly. Think the Web 2.0 crowd might have a giggle at this one - time to use the Beta stamp

Worst relaunch ever. Nothing seems to be working, large segments missing, bizarre navigation errors, best part is that all searches seem to be 404’ing to Sedo branded parked domain. Top fuckwittery.

Word to that. Something is definitely wrong with their style sheets. The line heights are out-of-whack and the text sizes are too small (or too large).
This is really not a good thing for a live site!
