Vibe Bought by PE Firm Wicks

The speculation on Vibe‘s future has come to end, for now: the urban lifestyle magazine and website has been bought by Wicks Group, a New York-based private equity firm. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Eric Gertler joins as CEO of the company. Ari Horowitz has been appointed president. Danyel Smith has been named editor-in-chief of the title. Len Burnett will continue as group publisher.
The hope now is to extend Vibe across multiple platforms.
