Video Blog WallStrip Gets $0.5 Million Funding

WallStrip, the video blog focused on the financial markets, has received about $0.5 million in angel funding, reports NewTeeVee. The angel investment round included venture capitalist Fred Wilson of Union Square Ventures, though it seems he has invested in personal capacity.
The video blog started a few months ago, and has quickly gained a good following because of the deadpan humor of the host Lindsay Campbell.

Rafat, While I’m typically not a follower of transaction stories, I really enjoy it when you say, “$0.5 million” for $500,000 or $500K. It makes me smile for some reason. I think I’ll start telling employees their salaries this way: “We can offer you $.05 million” Sounds so much better than $50,000.

Hah…we just do it because our deals database is structured in multiples or subsets of million. But that’s a good point…that;‘s what I’ll offer to our employees as well.

I find the name somewhat confusing and disappointing - she doesn’t actually strip.  Interesting site.

Jon - just watch the most recent episode of Wallstrip where Lindsay talks about Victoria Secret.. there’s a surprise guest at the end of the show :)
