VNU, which itself was bought out earlier today, has been on a European tech-media acquisition binge of late…earlier this year it had bought out UK’s The Inquirer and France’s Silicon.fr. Now comes the news that it has bought out Holland’s largest tech news site Tweakers.net. The financial terms were not disclosed.

Tweakers.net publishes IT news for both consumers and business and has an audience of 1 million unique users each month.

Besides the acquisitions, VNU also recently bought the rights to publish content from the popular Gizmodo blog, based in the US.

The release: Tweakers.net employs 16 staff and is based in Amersfoort. It will continue to operate as a stand-alone business but will be linked to the Dutch IT sites and magazines of VNU Business Publications.
