VNU Explores Selling Business Media Europe

  • Comments Comments (View)

B2B giant VNU may sell its Business Media Europe wing because it is not “well aligned with VNU’s Marketing Information and Media Measurement businesses”. The B2B division covers seven European countries including the UK, Germany and France, and includes more than 70 titles including Computing, Accountancy Age and the online tech network VNUNet. Around 25 percent of BME’s ad revenue is generated online. VNU’s US-based Business Information group will not be part of any sale because that division has “greater synergies” with VNU’s core focus on marketing and media information. Exhibitions Europe, co-owned by VNU and Jaarbeurs, will not be included either as that venture is part of VNU’s expansion into the US, China and the rest of Europe. Release
