I’m at Convergence India 2008, in Delhi; the exhibition halls are packed – companies like IOL Netcom, Motorola (NYSE: MOT), Nokia…around 550 of them. If you’re around, let me know – I’ll be checking my mail regularly – nikhil AT contentsutra DOT com. A quick aside, a geeky joke I overheard, though I didn’t really find it funny:

Person A: “There are 5 registration desks here – one at the entrance to each hall. You just have to find the one with the least crowd for registration.”
Person B: “That is self search…GPS based” (laughs).

(I told you it wasn’t funny).

Sivoo Hosts Video Content Related To IFFLA

Sivoo, an Internet TV network of multicultural on demand content has tied up with the 2007 Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) for hosting online, content based on the festival. IFFLA is being held at the ArcLight Hollywood, and being held between the 17th and 22nd of April, with features, documentaries and short films from and about India. The IFFLA subsite that Sivoo has created currently hosts interviews and behind the scenes footage from some of the movies being shown, including one that I have heard of before – Morning Fog.
There isn’t much content there, however – just from four of the many films being showcased at IFFLA. As per the release, the site will also feature red carpet footage. Interestingly, the host site – Sivoo – has Indian film content, and trying to watch if from India, I got the following message: “1003: You are not in a country that is authorized to view this content.”

I’ll be at Convergence India today, and there’s going to be talk of wireless, broadband, IPTV and VAS. A few launches are planned on the sidelines of the event. I’m probably attending the session on Business & Infotainment today, the session with a talk on VoIP during the first half tomorrow, then the one on ‘Towards a Mobile Information Society‘. Not decided about Day 3. I wonder when they’ll include a session on media convergence – focused on user behavior…
