BBC iPlayer App’s iPhone Update Adds 500K New Users In A Week

The BBC iPlayer iOS app has been downloaded 1.1m times in the week since it was updated to run on Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch as well as iPad, says Daniel Danker, the broadcaster’s general manager of programmes and on demand.

BBC’s VOD Syndication Refusal Backed By Regulator

The BBC Trust has provisionally backed the BBC in its refusal to syndicate out catch-up TV shows on a programme-by-programme basis. It means any VOD TV services wanting to host public service BBC shows must host the Big Screen HTML version of BBC iPlayer.
