From a 2006 BBC press release: "Gill’s initial project will be to head the launch of BBC Worldwide's iPlayer, a commercial extension of the BBC's proposed iPlayer, which would allow people to download television and radio programmes via the Internet after the 7 days of the BBC's free catch up service. The commercial iPlayer would also allow consumers to access classic programmes from the BBC's vast archive."
