Bollywood Movies Premiered At 3GSM
Two films, Zahir and Matriomony, both a part of filmmaker Sanjay Gupta’s compilation of 10 stories Dus Kahaniyan were premiered at the 3GSM World Congress yesterday. The films are a part of the GSMA, Hungama Mobile and Roamware’s “Mobile Bollywood Initiative” to distribute Bollywood content globally, via the mobile.
Neeraj Roy, MD of Hungama Mobile said that they have “launched a Bollywood channel directly on operator decks around the world in nearly 30 countries, with over 70 operators. This channel contains music, imagery, video and games from Bollywood.” [via release]
Sanjay Gupta’s Dus Kahaniyan seems to be in a format that can be easily ported to the mobile. I’m wondering if more and more Bollywood (and TV?) content will be created in a manner that it can be easily ‘mobilized’. Songs, already, are short enough.
Also, our UK contributing writer Robert Andrews and Berlin/European correspondent Peggy Anne Salz are at 3GSM. Complete coverage of 3GSM – keynotes, panels, interviews, buzz, gossip, pictures etc – will be at Moconews.net; the category for 3GSM, with coverage from this and previous years, is here.
