Boost Mobile Cuts Pricing Plans As It Remakes Itself For Broader Appeal
Boost Mobile is cutting prices as it tries to remake itself into a prepaid carrier with broader appeal beyond the 14-to-25-year-old market, WSJ reports. Last week the Sprint (NYSE: S) Nextel subsidiary cut its per-minute rate from 20 cents to 10 cents and is planning to modify its unlimited plan as well, but declined to give specifics. Companies like Boost Mobile are expected to benefit during this recession as consumers look to cut costs and even dump the far-reaching contracts used by post-paid carriers.
