Google Still Hiring Lots of Engineers (And Some Daycare Workers Too)

At least it is good to see that some companies are bucking the downturn and actually hiring people.

Makes sense…one UX designer or product manager can make a prototype in a week that takes 30 software engineers 6 months to implement, especially at a search engine where there's so much back end software supporting what you see on screen. This is a standard ratio for the industry.
Thats some great news to see that they are expanding and that they are still focused on their employees well being.
Google did get rid of some people a month back too though.
