It's All About Numbers
Some very imaginative wordplay from the Department of Telecommunication (DoT). ET reports that they claim India has surpassed its target of 40 million Internet subscribers by 2010, three years in advance. They’ve included around 9.2 million Internet subscribers (on PC), and around 31.3 million subscribers via mobile. It’s not clear whether they’re referring to the walled garden, or access to the world wide web via mobile. My guess is – the former.
Please feel free to applaud in the comments, if not for the achievement of the target, then at least for the imaginative wordplay.
Now we have started behaving like the chinese … showing rosy picture that is …. way to go … 10 % GDP growth rate here we come …
These DOT guys have no shame…first they fail miserably in meeting their targets…then they piggyback on the customers brought into the fold by the private companies to proclaim they've surpassed their phone subscription targets, and now they are claiming the same with internet subscribers. Now you know why we invented the zero…you fill in the zero and you get DOT
