TapaTap, a CA-based mobile applications startup, has received around $2.5 million in first funding from Gabriel Venture Partners, according to a regulatory filing, picked up by PEHub. Isaac Babbs, the CEO, was till recently the VP of Games at Infospace (he was previously the CEO of Atlas Mobile which was sold to INSP)…the CTO and other VP are also from Infospace.
The company says it is developing mobile 2.0 apps which can be downloaded and shared “for free and work seamlessly across web, wap, and rich mobile clients”.
I just checked out this site and am having a blast. These contests are a riot! Somehow I need to get back to work…but I'd rather get paid to mess around with tapatap.
me thinks these guys have cratered – their site has been down for weeks. $2.5M only lasts for so long, i guess.
