Is it not true that most technology based industries go through this phase of seeking monopoly profits. In classic fashion the mobile industry is now an oligopoly with 'cartel' like behaviour. We will now have to hope for WiMax and other disruptive technologies to break up these monopolies. Considering the fact that the spped of 'technological discoveries' are accelerating – no monopoly may be expected to last very long. Me thinks mobile monopolies will cease to exist within 2-3 years or so.
