MTVRoadies.TV Launched For Fifth Iteration Of Roadies
[by Cerius Shah] Another one for the road. Roadies 5.0 (for the fifth time!) has gone online with MTVRoadies.tv. The website, according to this Agencyfaqs article, has received 83,000 registerations so far. They have tied up with Zapak to create Roadie themed games, have an SMS contest running as well as a tie-up with Giftmate (sub-brand of Paymate). The site has out-takes of content not suitable for airing and will feature blogs written by jilted participants besides the usual goodies including downloads, a trail map and discussion boards. The Orkut community has 25 members and MTV has launched a Facebook quiz called Are You Roadie Enough?
They have put up a video on Youtube in October 2007, which has so far garnered 3,00 views. Besides the registration, numbers for the community and apps aren’t really impressive. How much of cross media is being used to close the communication loop vis-a-vis pose for a fancy press release for the digital media community?

As long as team building etc is there its fine, however, using non stop abusive language and driving people towards cut throat competition what is the next generation learning?
Anyways I like the marketing strategy of MTV roadies and the way they have leveraged new website with videos and all to promote the series.
