MY FM Launches Website

MY FM, the FM station from the Bhaskar group has launched a portal – www.myfmindia.com. Don’t go by the press release (here, doc file): They’ve launched podcasts, but the execution is pretty shoddy. The first couple of podcasts that I heard from this page (streaming works only with IE) has audio clips from RJs around the New Year; clips are streamed, and rather short at 48 seconds…short celebrity interviews of just 30-40 seconds each. Nothing in terms of podcasting content to make you return to the site to hear their content – it lacks recency and freshness, and depth.

There’s also a MY Club, with a message board (they’ve called it a blog). The segment also has Polls and music trivia; I like the ‘Song Request’ idea, but haven’t been able to give it a go. The events listing is sparsely populated. It’s Ironic that the press release stated: “94.3 MY FM seems to have done their homework well for the website also has celebrity interviews and entertaining on-air properties on the website.” That’s rather presumptuous.
