On Saregama’s Music Store; Need For An Independent Aggregator; Meta Search For Music?
Saregama’s online store has gone live, with an initial database of 40,000 songs. The tracks are priced at Rs. 12 each, and Saregama has plans to scale up to 4.76 million music tracks online, believed to be be India
portals like musicindiaonline.com and raaga.com are well positioned to do such aggregation . but more than that i am worried about DRM aspect of these purchase . once i pay Rs 12 for a song do i own it across devices [ Mobile, comp,CD,iPod] ?
didn't get much info on this from site
Prashant – Just look at the download images on this url – http://www.saregama.com/Content/FAQs.aspx – I guess it says WMA, and then asks for a license – windows DRM .. So I dont think you can play it on Ipod or any other device
hi,
do people really buy music online? its so easily available otherwise!
interesting discussion. Also, tolmol.com, a comparison search engine has recently aggregated the sellers of Music CDs and DVDs on its site. they have collection of more than 10,000 movies.
