What the iPhone Doesn’t Have: IM; Games; Video Recording And Others
What it has is making WSJ, NYT, Newsweek and USAToday go gaga over it. What it doesn’t have are some very key things, and Gizmodo lists them all here. I was *very* surprised to learn that there are no instant messaging capabilities, at least for now….that really is a shocker. I guess you could have fired up the browser, go to Meebo.com or other online IM services, and possibly used it from there. But even there it has no flash support, so in most cases would be a non-starter as well. Then no games, though that might be temporary and can be added relatively easily, from what I understand. Video recording is also a big missing feature.
But again, no messaging, really?
SMS text messaging makes more money for the operator..
I dont think IM is that key for the target audience of the iPhone
Ahh, Rafat, forget ye the Safari as the SDK tid-bit? Just pump up Meebo or something like that on Safari.
Duh?
