Yahoo! Maps Launched In India With Info From MapMyIndia
Yahoo has launched Yahoo Maps in India, the maps for which have been provided by CE Info Systems as per Webyantra.net. Comparing Yahoo Maps with CE Info Systems’ own site MapMyIndia – the content seems to be the same, though Yahoo site is superior in usability – with dropdown recommendations while searching, zoom in or out using the scroll button on the mouse, and higher quality map design. There’s also useful local information already marked out – restaurants, hospitals, ATMs and chemists. In addition, this information is sorted according to businesses.
However, I think there is one aspect in which MapMyIndia is better – it allows users to share a map location by embedding it on their blogs or websites. Amit at Webyantra has said much the same thing, adding that it’s likely that Yahoo Maps will be integrated into the Yahoo! OurCity mashups.

There is a lot of error in the data. There is no church around my place and the hospital thats a kilometer away form my place has been moved right next to my building and funnily the hospital again appears at the right place too (double).
If this data is just used to know routes and stuff, its fine, but if you want to develop any applications on this, then it will be totally useless
