Blog Search Engine Sphere Gets $3.75 Million; Launched

Sphere, an SF-based new blog search engine, has closed a $3.75 million in first round, from Hearst Publishing, Trident Capital and About.com founder Scott Kurnit. It has already raised about $500,000 in seed capital from Radar Partners, Will Hearst, True Ventures and other angels back in April 2005.
Plenty of other services out there: Technorati (still the clear leader), Feedster, IceRocket, Yahoo and Google’s own anemic blog search services, and some others.
