Mobile Content Firm Dijji/Dwango Closes Shop

It’s happened, the first of the small-to-mid-sized mobile content vendors has bit the dust… Dijji (renamed from Dwango Wireless) is reportedly going out of business. “It is in the best interests of the company, its creditors and stockholders that the company cease operations and commence an orderly liquidation and winding up,” the company said in the 8-K form.
While the reasons are probably many-fold, Dijji was banking on a big license strategy to push content — such as Playboy — which apparently didn’t sell well enough to recoup costs.
