Sify Files Police Complaint Against Yahoo! India
The Hindustan Times reports that the Sify Creative Head Hanumant Mane has registered a police complaint against six Yahoo! employees, who were caught allegedly with forged identity cards, and taking pictures at the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai. Sify is the official Broadband partner of the event. The complaint mentions top Yahoo! India officials, including MD George Zacharias. Yahoo! India has denied any involvement.
Previous cases in India involving Internet companies or blogs include Naukri vs Bixee, the Bazee-DPS MMS case (via Amit Ranjan), the Times of India serving a legal notice to Indian blog Mediaah, the IIPM controversy, and Orkut being served a legal notice for hosting an anti-India community.
